Bible in a Year | November

How to read the Bible chronologically in a year...with your child

Isn’t hope fulfilled a beautiful thing? We’ve been living through a year of darkness, isolation, and waiting in many ways, so coming to the fulfillment of God’s promise in Jesus has been so sweet. I hope you’ve enjoyed these gospels as we move from summer into fall, and we’ll continue to look at Jesus’s life and the message of the early apostles as we move into winter.

We’re reading the gospels in canonical order, along with Acts and Romans. But as we come to the letters we’ll read them in the order most scholars agree they were written.

I’m writing this post two days before our election, and I’m nearly gripped with the stress of it all. But as we approach November, with all the fullness of Thanksgiving joy that comes at the end of this month, let’s turn our hearts toward gratitude. I’d encourage you to keep a gratitude journal each day to focus your mind on contentment. And keep this spirit of thankfulness present as we approach Advent and read about the work of the disciples, the early church, and of course, Jesus.
